
The SIGEA - Italian Society of Environmental Geology, makes available online the Environmental Geology Monograph "Environmental Remediation in the Context of Ecological Transition," a 400-page volume edited by Daniele Baldi (Italian Society of Environmental Geology - APS Contact Person for "Contaminated Sites") and Vito Felice Uricchio(Water Research Institute, National Research Council (IRSA-CNR), with a preface by Undersecretary of State Ilaria Fontana.
"...the monograph aims to draw an explanatory picture of the main issues and aspects related to the characterization andremediation of contaminated sites, from the regulatory-forensic aspects, to the application of innovative technologies for remediation, with a specific focus on bioremediation, from the state of the art of the procedures within the main Sites of National Interest (SINs), to the complex and extremely widespread issue ofasbestos. The Monograph is to be considered a work in progress, not only methodologically, for a sound and correct scientific dissemination, but also as a vector for moments of confrontation, in-depth discussion among political, technical-scientific, business and civil society bodies."
